summer in Slovenia

It's amazing how the world is beautiful.

horses

Katarina Mavec, my good friend, is working in Rakitna, Slovenia as an equine-assisted psychotherapist. Just before I left to Israel 5 or 6 years ago, Katarina and I were working together for a year, still in a small stable and just with one (amazing) horse. This time I came to visit her and wow, I got so overwhelmed by the changes; Luidor (the amazing knapstrupper horse) got company of three more horses, they built a huge, wooden riding arena with adjacent stables, storage for hay, offices and wardrobes, meeting space and paddocks. They are running therapies and workshops with the help of horses on a regular basis. All this is wrapped in the green and quiet of Rakitna. Maybe next year I should come for more time...

Slovenija

It's such an usual thing to say, but the first thing that stroke me when landing was the lush of green and fresh, strong colours and such clear visibility. My home. It is the first time that Jonatan starts to ask about how was it when I was a kid growing up here, I feel all overwhelmed telling him stories and taking him and Mika to all the places that I love and meet all the people that are close. It's a very different visit, that's for sure.
My bags are on a slight hold, even though my brain is constantly constructing new shapes and possibilities.

Jaz sem vsa navdušena nad pripovedovanjem zgodb in ju vodim na kraje in k ljudem, ki so mi pri srcu. Zelo drugačen obisk tokrat.

sale

OK, I guess I have to publish it over here as well. I am in the middle of my summer sale time. Prices are very low and on ALL items. The sale will go on until beginning of August, when me and my two kids are (finally) going to visit my family in Slovenia. I can't wait.
Anyhow, here's the link to my shop again, in case you haven't seen it already.

Pikula in Delo

Hvala.

I never thought I will write about how my heart went tahicardic when I found out (from my loyal detective Matilda of course) about the article in one of the most important Slovene newspapers (Delo). Ana Hribar wrote a fine article and it's nice to see the dotted Pikula in such a lush company. Thank you.

And, I have a summer sale in my shop! Up to 30% discount! Hurry up, bags and purses are vanishing very fast.

Avocado

Saturday afternoon. Outskirts of kibbutz Ramat HaKovesh. Avocado orchard. Huge, amazing avocado orchard. The trees were so big that I almost felt like walking in the woods near my village in Slovenia. It was good family time, you can see it on the kid's faces. After we left the orchard (with loads of avocado stuffed in Mika's stroller) we took a walk in the kibbutz, oh, what an amazing place. It made me want to pack our stuff and move there right away. Photos on the way.

PikulaBags is now available in a cute new shop in Ljubljana; Babushka boutique.

Sobotno popoldne. Zaledje kibuca Ramat HaKovesh. Avokadov nasad. Ogrooomen avokadov nasad in drevesa polna sadezev. Ko smo odhajali (s polnimi vrecami avokadov) smo pokukali v kibuc. Uh..kaksen kraj!

Slovenia day one

The first thing that hit me after all the seeing family after almost a year excitement was the amount of green and home grown. Fresh. Quiet. Calm. And all the kids together.
