the garden

We did it. I am succeeding in keeping the Slovene tradition of keeping a vegetable garden in our yard. I am so proud of it. So far we eat lettuce and a bunch of different types of herbs, the tomatoes are in bloom and I feel closer to my roots.

Evo, uspeva mi! Uspeva mi vzdrzevati slovenske navade in obicaje! Zakolicili smo mali zelenjavni vrtek in stvari kar rastejo. Vsak dan si postrezem s skledo solate in opazujem kako paradajzu poganjajo novi in novi listki. Zalivamo pa tudi po moje setkrat vec kot doma v Sloveniji; tu je namrec ze pravo poletje.

tito's legs

Every time I look at the legs of our dog Tito, I smile. He's just the perfect dog in the world and his legs are such an expression of his personality. A little crooked but always bring good mood.

Vsakic, ko pogledam noge Titota, se nasmehnem. Tito je pes, ki mu ni para in njegove noge se tako zelo skladajo z njegovim karakterjem. Malo zakrivljene ampak vedno vzbujajo dobro voljo.

nature awakening + studiolife

I made a few photos of stuff going around our house. Since we came back from Slovenia it took some time for the garden to come back to life. I visited the local florist and bought some new plants plus our two palm trees are flowering with the most amazing white flowers.
The animals are happy, Fitcha is exploring and following me around.
 I have a busy time in studio with the sale items and the regular orders but still I had some time to put together this cool zebra string bag and I experimented with pyramid shaped bag. What do you think?
Oh and the first photo is of my beloved box made out of old postcards...it was a gift from our friend on our wedding (see the photo behind).

OK, I guess I have to publish it over here as well. I am in the middle of my summer sale time. Prices are very low and on ALL items. The sale will go on until beginning of August, when me and my two kids are (finally) going to visit my family in Slovenia. I can't wait.

Kljub temu, da se o tem dere že vsak vrabec tu naokrog, pod Alpami in čez lužo (= emfazična hiperbola), moram nekako objaviti tudi tule. Moja Pikula je sredi poletnih razprodaj! Cene so nizke in popust velja na vse torbe, torbice, torbičke, denarnice, denarničke, etuije, slive (pa ne tiste iz drevja), klače in podobne strvari, ki lahko nosijo druge stvari. Popusti veljajo do začetka avgusta, ko se z Miko in Jončatam odpravljam v domovino. Komaj čakam.
In drage moje, prinašam (tudi) kovček torbic.

renewing

Dani found an old table. It was a perfect playground for today. I have no idea how will we remove all the paint that the table didn't receive. Studio was today filled with sequins again. I made some new zippered pockets with sequins and will post about them soon.

Dani je našel staro, oguljeno mizico. Na terasici smo imeli odlično barvno igrišče. Nimam pojma kako bom spravila barvo iz delov ki jih mizica ni prejela. Delavnica je bila danes spet polna bleščic. Poleg rednih uokvirjenih torbičk sem naredila še par takih z zadrgo. Slikovna poročila kmalu.

ikea boxes

Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was mainly checking out additional "vacation home" possibilities that our house can offer. Saturday full of friends, cool neighbors, kids in the pool all day, us under a palm tree that grows under our rusted balcony fence.
Anyhow, I've been to Ikea to buy some shelving and look what great boxes they sell! I think I need to go back and buy also the ones with retro flowers.

Upam, da je bil vikend fin. Moj je bil predvsem v vzdušju preverjanja kaj naša "počitniška hiša" še lahko ponudi. In lahko! Prijatelji, novi fajn sosedi, otroci cel dan v bazenčku, mi pa pod palmo, ki nam raste pred zarjavelo ograjo balkončka (barva - naslednji projekt).
V Ikeji sem ob nakupovanju polic obnemela ob tehle škatlah. Čez teden dni grem še enkrat po tiste z retro rožami. Nimam pojma kaj bom dala notri ampak važno, da jih imam.

new house and surroundings

The best thing about our new house is that it is standing right next to a small pine tree mini forest (say 10 trees all together). Good people reused old tires and made a super cool playground for kids over there. Jonatan and Mika are crazy about it. I love when they run barefoot, get dust all over them and feel free. Together with lots of rosemary bushes all around and the smell of the pine trees I feel like I'm on holidays in the Croatian coast line all the time. Tito still doesn't know exactly if to play with this skinny girlfriend or to be a bit afraid of her.

Najboljša stvar naše nove bajte je, da stoji zraven mini gozdička borovcev. Dobri ljudje so v njem naredili super igrišče iz odpadlih avtomobilskih gum. Jonč in Mika sta navdušena. Všeč mi je ko se podita gor in dol, vsa zaprašena in bosih nog. Meni se še vedno zdi kot da sem na morju na Hrvaškem; vonj borovcev in rožmarinovi grmički pred vhodnimi vrati. Tito še vedni ni čisto prepričan ali bi se igral s svojo novo prijateljico ali bi se je rajši malce bal.

new fabrics

I am in my new house. Finally arranged my working space and off to sew like crazy. I have a meeting tomorrow morning in Tel Aviv with these guys and had a hectic day preparing a set of bags and purses for them. I am pretty excited to start using the new fabrics also for large bags.

Preseljeni v novo hišico, na "vasi". Končno sem uspela urediti mojo delovno sobo in pričela s šivanjem brez meja. Jutri zjutraj imam sestanek s člani tele strani in sem danes ves dan pripravljala torbice zanje. Fino je bilo med prsti držati nekaj novega blaga in komaj čakam, da naredim veliko torbo iz krasnega "tribal" platna.

Slovenia day one

The first thing that hit me after all the seeing family after almost a year excitement was the amount of green and home grown. Fresh. Quiet. Calm. And all the kids together.

It took me too much time to make a bag for myself. It's big, it's practical
and it even has room for diapers. Best part; it has lots of dots inside.

Vzelo mi je daleč preveč časa, da sem se rešila tistega o bosi kovačevi kobili. Tale torba je moja. Je velika, praktična in ima celo prostor za par plenic. In kar je najslaše; znotraj se skriva veliko pikic.
