simple tote bag tutorial // איך תופרים תיק צד

I love this tote bag. It is so practical and simple. Because it is so easy to make, you can sew a few of them and use them for your groceries, library, if you change the size a bit, you can even suit it for your kids. It is a perfect handmade gift for the holiday season. I used two amazing fabrics from cottonetfabrics shop.
So, here it is, enjoy creating.

תפירה של תיק צד הוא פרויקט פשוט ומתאים למי שעושה את צעדיה הראשונים בעולם התפירה.

תיק הצד הוא התיק המושלם ליום יום. הוא גדול , מרווח הכל נכנס לתוכו בקלות הוא יכול לשמש אותך כתיק לעבודה, תיק לחדר כושר, תיק קניות . הוא דו צדדי וניתן להפוך אותו . אני תמיד אוהבת לתפור תיקי צד, קל מאוד לתפור אותם ואפשר לשחק עם הגודל והצבעים של הבדים. בתיק הזה השתמשתי בבדים המדהימים של כותונת

1 - cut: 
2 rectangles of outer fabric 30cm x 40 cm
2 rectangles of inner fabric 30cm x 40 cm
2long straps for handles 5cm x 60 cm

2-5
sew and attach the straps to the outer fabric  (7 cm from the edge)

sew the outer fabric rectangles right sides together. Sew from the sides and the bottom.

7 - 10
sewing boxed corners: make a triangle at the bottom of the bags edge, measure 3 cm from the corner and draw a straight line with a ruler. Sew on the line, cut the leftover triangles 0.5 cm from the stitches. Do the same thing also in the second corner of the bottom of the bag.

הוראות

1-5

תופרים את הרצועות לפי המתואר בצילומים  2-4 ומחברים את הרצועות לבד החיצוני בתפר רגיל 7 ס"מ מהקצוות של התיק.

לתפור את הריבועים של הבד החיצוני אחד לשני – ימין על ימין תפר במרחק רגל מכונת התפירה – את התפר יש לעשות בשלוש פאות בלבד-  שני הצדדים של התיק והתחתית של התיק

7 - 10
לסמן משולש בבסיס התיק בשתי הפינות במרחק 3 ס"מ מהקודקוד. לתפור את הפינות של בסיס התיק בצורת משולש (תמונה 8) נעשה זאת כדי לקבל תחתית רבועית  לתיק.

sew the inner fabric rectangles right sides together from the two sides, leave a 10 cm opening at the bottom. Sew the corners as explained above (7-10)

Insert the sewn outer fabric bag into the inner fabric bag so that the right sides of the fabrics are one on top of another.

13 - 14
sew the two layers of fabrics on the top of the bag. when you reach the straps sew slowly and make a double stitch for reinforcing.

15 - 16
turn the bag through the 10 cm opening you left in the inner fabric.

topstitch the upper edge of the bag.

close the opening in the lining.

and your tote bag is ready!

לתפור את החלקים הפנימיים של התיק כשהבד מונח ימין על ימין . תופרים בצדדים ובחלק התחתון במרחק רגל (מכונת התפירה) מהקצה. יש להשאיר פתח של כ 10 ס"מ בחלק התחתון

להכניס את הבטנה לתוך החלק החיצוני ככה שצד ימין (הצד הקדמי של הבד) של הבטנה וצד ימין של החלק החיצוני של התיק נושקים אחד לשני .

לחבר ולתפור את החלק העליון של התיק,  כאשר מגיעים לאזור הכתפיות בקצוות שלהן יש לתפור תפר כפול (תופרים פעמיים)

15-16
הופכים את התיק דרך הפתח שהשארנו בחלק התחתון של הבטנה

מצמידים את הקצוות בחלק העליון של התיק בתפר מילימטר מהקצה

סוגרים את הפתח של הבטנה

19 . מגהצים את התיק – התיק מוכן  !!!

do it yourself pouch with a zipper and strap

In my pre frame clutch times I used to do lots of zippered pouches. For myself and for all kinds of purposes. Jonatan loves this kind of bags, he puts in all his parking lot of cars and carries them around the world.
It's very simple to sew this kind of a pouch, even those of you who sit next to a sewing machine once year can do it in no time.
Mine was first in a simple square shape but I later on changed it into a half a watermelon slice shape, so Jonč can wear it easier.

Here's what you will need:
2 outer fabric swatches (preferably home decor weight)
2 lining fabrics
1 zipper
1 strap
sewing machine
some pins, thread and a pen

First you make a sandwich out of (see photos below):
1.lining right side up
2.zipper right side up
3.strap (put it a few cm from the edge of the sandwich)
4. outer fabric wrong side up

sew with your sewing machine's zipper foot and pin the layers together if you are afraid the fabrics will slip aside.
After you've sewn one side of the zipper you do the same sandwich also on the other side and sew it together as shown above. Take care that you tuck the strap between the outer fabric swatches, so you don't accidentally sew over it.
Once you've separated the layers and put together outer fabric swatches right sides together and lining swatches right sides together you should get something like this:

The red lines above show you how to sew all the fabrics together. Make sure you leave an opening on the bottom of the lining so you will later on be able to pull the bag through it.

You are almost done! Just sew the opening together (green line), tuck the lining in the bag, put your cars in it and go for a hike. Or put your hiking book in it and go for a drive with your car.
